Q. How do I configure my e-mail software to use UK-Email.com?

Your UK-Email.com account is accessible from any e-mail program that supports POP3 mailboxes.  All you need do is follow the instructions for your particular program and use the settings provided below.

Incoming Mail Server type: POP3
Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.uk-email.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.uk-email.com
Account name: see welcome e-mail
Password: see welcome e-mail

Notes:

1. Your account name is not necessarily the same as your UK-Email address - please refer to your welcome e-mail if you are unsure.

2. You may use any outgoing mail (SMTP) server, you do not have to use the UK-Email server to send mail.

You can use your e-mail software in conjunction with the WebMail front end so long as you remember that once your e-mail has been downloaded from the server, it will no longer be visible via WebMail.  Your e-mail software may have an option to "leave mail on server", which will avoid this happening.

Q. How do I use WebMail?

The WebMail front end is here: http://www.uk-email.com/webmail

You will be asked for your name and password details in order to log in to the service.  Your name is the same as your UK-Email address, but do not enter the @uk-email.com part.  Your password is the same as notified in your welcome e-mail.

Q. Help! I've lost my password.

Send an e-mail to support@uk-email.com and state your full name, postal address including postcode and your UK-Email account reference (see your welcome e-mail) and we will reset your password to a new one.

Q. Why do I get an error trying to send e-mail?

In order to ensure that only account holders use our e-mail servers, we have in place a system that prevents e-mail from being sent unless you have successfully connected to your UK-Email account within the previous 10 minutes.  This only applies if you are using the UK-Email SMTP mail server to send e-mail.

Most e-mail software automatically connects to download waiting e-mail before it tries to send, but sometimes this is not the case. If you are having problems then try and force your e-mail software to download waiting mail first (you do not necessarily have to have any mail waiting, simply connecting is enough).

Q. Who are you? I want to talk to a real person!
